  1. Now that I’ve regain my senses, can anybody help to clarify if I understood correct what transpired between Zhen Ba and Zhong Qi at end of the episode. Zhen Ba set out some “tests” (based on Rockit’s comments) and if Zhong Qi can successful overcome these tests, then he is free to pursue Ai Jia??

    • He is just trying to convey that it’ll be a very difficult task filled with challenges. As for what he said, it sounds like he is just making things up making it sound silly:
      1) Life and death challenge2) Near death (literally Door to death) challenge3) Incarceration challenge
      —-Then this is where he really starts to wing it—4) Clench your teeth challenge5) Ongoing booby-trapped challenges

  7. the stuff shi hao shu wanted zhongqi to do was little hard to understand…
    the first one is life or death
    the second is a haunted house
    the third is abducted.
    not sure about the rest, can anybody translate?

  9. How is it possible that a daily drama be as good as this? I laughed so hard that I dropped my I-pad on the floor. I only wish that my mandarin is not so poor otherwise I am sure I will love this drama even more. So anybody who can provide bits of technical translation of the dialogue here and there would be most appreciated.

    • I also can’t believe that a daily drama can be this good… the writers/directors are obviously people who understand human nature very well and are naturally humorous!

  10. Brilliantly played again…Swoon… 

    This episode was funny (and sad at parts), and I must say that the chemistry between Alan and Zhongqi is soooo good.

    The writing is tight, and this I want to say about Shi Hao Shu’s concern for his daughter: it’s not unfounded. I remember how badly Zhongqi treated Ai Jia in the past and even made her feel hurt at the “leftover girl” name (and the whole photo debacle). Plus the amount that Ai Jia did for Zhongqi without Zhongqi actually reciprocating until towards the end…. which father wouldn’t have misgivings? I hope Zhongqi crosses all the “guans” though! He needs to prove he is serious. I’m actually really glad that Ai Jia is in the dark on this… cos it will prolong this romance proper… and I don’t know how Ai Jia will react yet to Zhongqi’s advances. But I kind of have a foreboding feeling about Mingyu and parental objections. It will kind of have the “ick” factor if Mingyu goes after Zhongqi. 

    The Mandarin jokes are good! I laughed at the literal translation of 大家走着瞧 “Everybody walk to look”. 
    The actor playing Shi Hao Shu is shining in this show… seriously… he has impeccable comic timing and says the darnest things.

    I like it that the show is exploring the angle of Alan and Cai Jie being in a pseudo-marriage. Alan obviously longs for stability but detests the conventional institution of marriage – was this perhaps caused by his mother’s loose ways? Alan and Cai Jie are getting to quite a sweet stage in their TV relationship and I think many of us viewers can say that we’re not so bothered by the pairing any more… it certainly does serve a purpose! Alan needs to learn also to stop avoiding commitment? Winnie still raises a question mark…

    I feel nice and warm and fuzzy after watching this show (my bedtime drama too), knowing that I will be able to watch the continuation of this well written and directed story tomorrow…. what a joy!

    Btw, just curious, does anyone commenting in this forum know how the show is doing in Taiwan? How are its ratings?

  17. 愛家真得很敬業耶~~~每回拍睡覺的鏡頭, 嘴巴都會稍微開開的, 是很自然的”表情”, 都不會因為”形象”而有嘴部的”做作”, 給她按粉多粉多讚, 真是可愛, 難怪仲祈會無法自拔愛上妳 ; )
