  1. This is one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched! Really good for a TW drama, since usually KR/JP dramas have better plots. I’ve watched many of George’s dramas before but this one with Gui Gui has amazing chemistry, I like them better than George and Annie. I went to Xiamen and GLY islet 2 years ago and this drama brought back so many great travel memories^^

I think the ending is quite sweet, although like everyone else I prefer Ah Kuan with Wen Qing. But I think the point of the story was that although AK lost WQ, that loss was filled by Tian Qing whom he found out was actually the girl he met when they were little, though originally he thought was WQ. It shows that the three of them, AK, and the sister twins were bonded by fate in the very beginning, and with either of sisters, AK could feel a connection: with WQ it was the summer they spent, with TQ it was their convo as children. Thus, even though he lost WQ, being with TQ isn’t so unnatural since they met as kids, they had their own story since the start, rather than “stealing” WQ’s love. It’s like a fresh start for both AK and TQ. WQ’s story with AK was unfortunate, but I’m sure she would rather see her younger sister with AK than anyone else. One thing I can not get over is Li Jing. I’m kinda angry that no one blamed her for causing WQ’s death 🙁 Cuz I sincerely believe that if it weren’t for LJ, WQ wouldn’t have died that summer. Seeing how easily LJ was let go for her behavior makes me feel it’s so unfair, esp now that she’s successful and laughing with AK and Xu Lei! Nonetheless, such a great drama!!! Gui gui is really a great actress, I really loved her chemistry with George ^^

    • BTW, just want to add that we shouldn’t get caught up on who’s the lead between the sisters~ If you really want an answer, the lead is Gui gui 😛 You have to think about the story as a whole, I didn’t accept WQ till end of Ep 30. Because that’s when I realize the story was about finding love, losing love, but then also finding a miracle that produced a new love that’s connected to your past love 🙂 Hope that makes sense. xoxo

  2. This show is actually a drama adaption of the movie Summer Times. I think I prefer the ending of the movie much better as Ah Kuan doesn’t fall in love with xiao qing’s sister. That part actually made me really mad. It was fine that xiao qing died, because hey! Its a melodrama, you are SUPPOSE to cry. But the director did have to force a happy ending.

I personally feel that they should have made Li Qing find out about Xiao Qing when she was in the hospital and have her bring Ah Kuan to the hospital just before she dies. The ending scene should be Ah Kuan holding Xiao Xing’s hand on the hospital bed as he doses off. Xiao Xing gives Ah Kuan’s hand one last squeeze and relaxes( ie dead).

And if they really wanted to pair of every singles couple Tian Xing should have ended up with Xu Lei, not Li Qing.

  3. It’s funny how with a twist of fate, I came to like Li Jing. She realized how much of a bitch she’s been and in the end, she did what she could to help Xiao Qing.
She knew how much she loved Ah Kuan and didn’t want him to remember her with a tainted image so she told him the truth.
While I understand why XQ rather die alone than to tell him the truth, what she did was cruel. He could’ve stayed with her, accompany her to the end and then in time, he can heal his wounds but the fact that Ah Kuan has let 2 people that he loved the most (his father & XQ) die without him being there with them will always be a regret.
I hate the ending, I wish the directors let XQ live or at least let him be with her to the end and have an open ending.

I died watching from episode 25 onwards, my heart can’t possibly take this anymore omfg

  4. y did they show the past of ah kuan and tian qing in the end? because that wasn’t when ah kuan liked tian qing, that was when he thought she was xiao qing and also at that time tian qing wasn’t with ah kuan because she loved him it was for xiao qing. i don’t like the ending. ah kuan should always be thinking of xiao qing and always love her like the fish and tian qing shouldn’t accept ah kuan

    • Woah I’m so confused. In the end of this it shows A Kuan when he was young, so the girl was tian qing? Okay then it shows a flash back of Xiao Qing writing the letter, but she says that she hoped he wouldn’t be mad for returning is love to Xiao Qing? So then the one who died was Tian Qing? I’m so confused! Please explain.

  5. I don’t know why everybody hate the ending. I actually really like it and enjoy it. Although a kuan said he gonna love xiao qing for ever, which he does, he can still move on. He been single for 2 years since she died. He will forever love her but eventually he have to let someone else in his heart. Maybe a kuan’s love for tian qing will never be as strong as his love for xiao qing, but at lease he is not living in the past. And this is what xiao qing wants for a kuan anyways, it is for him to be happy. Also in the letter xiao qing wrote to a kuan, she said she’s giving a kuan’s love to tian qing. So yea anyway I think they are meant to be even though this whole drama focus on xiao qing. <3

  6. I have been watched the movie “Summer Times” . In my opinion the movie’s ending is better than this one…….. But this drama still one of the best dramas i have ever seen.

  7. This was suppose to be one of my favorite dramas!! The ending totally killed it for me D; If the little sister was suppose to be the main character then tell the audience that! They spent so much time showing how much Ah Kuan and Xiao Qing loved each other but in the end he ends up loving the little sister. Ah Kuan’s mom told him love is everlasting. What happened?? And if you go back and watch again that day when the little sister went outside to meet Ah Kuan was one of the days the sisters decided to switch and be each other. So technically is was Xiao Qing(?) I don’t know. But I’m just really mad right now. If the little sister was gonna end up with Ah Kuan then they should have let Xu Lei end up with Xiao Qing. He loved her so much more than Ah Kuan did. Why did they have to say the little sister was the one to meet him first? They should’ve just let Xiao Qing meet him first and Ah Kuan ends up happy thinking about Xiao Qing for the rest of his life (everlasting love) which is the theme to this drama!! Ugh! Just so angry right now DDD;

  8. One of the best taiwanese drama I have ever seen, My eyes bawled for an hour. My heart is in pain. I really wish Qing could have been saved.

  9. i cried at the ending even though it was happy 🙁 maybe because i find it really sad that even though ah kuan will have a place for wen qing in his heart forever, he ends up with someone who looks like her and it somehow doesn’t seem in place with the fu qi yu. it just doesn’t seem right 🙁

  10. omg i’m so angry at the ending!! even if xiao qing’s sister WAS the little girl that ah kuan met she’s inherently different to xiao qing… xiao qing is very into starsigns…passionate about the husband/wife fish at jing men…sincere and kindhearted whereas xiao qing’s sister is more playful, coy and I don’t know she doesn’t seem as kindhearted (in the previous episode where she talked back to li jing and brought up li jing’s past about lying to ah kuan about her blindness) as xiao qing….

like I remember xiao qing’s sister said the husband/wife fish looked like “alien” fishes in previous episodes which demonstrates she’s not as passionate about jing men compared to xiao qing… i know the directors are trying to create a more ‘happier’ ending and considering xiao qing already passed away why not let ah kuan start anew with xiao qing’s sister.. but most of the flashback at the end of the episode was when xiao qing’s sister was PRETENDING to be xiao qing so you can’t really say they went through a lot together.. even so ah kuan still thought she was xiao qing…..

  11. i just wish that they had created a different ending then what the original movie ending had. even though they based this drama off of “summer times”, they don’t exactly have to follow the script. in fact, i think they should’ve had a different ending. i wished that xiao qing never died. /: i just hated how the drama ended but oh well. i don’t exactly like the little sister, tian qing. not sure why but anyways i think that the ending was kinda of suckish. WHYYYY DID SHE HAVE TO DIE? man! D: i cried so much, LOL.

    • omg i know!! i know they followed the script of “summer times” but the directors of the drama said there would be a happy ending… OMG they could’ve changed it so xiao qing didn’t have to die ugh :'( well they did change it a bit and let ah kuan end up with xiao qing’s sister

  12. What a great & touching drama of 2012 … The only one without cursing / negative feedback! George hu & gui gui great show <3 them , looking forward to their next show or maybe part2 … as for now going back to watch from the beginning over and over again esp their sweetness together!!!

  13. ah kwan is in love with xiao qing2 in the end of the drama or they are just fd?
this drama is the best one of 2012,it makes me cry and slime a lot.

  14. no matter what, GuiGui and George Hu are so cute together. Who cares about whether she’s Xiao Qing1 or Xiao Qing2. It’s only a drama man.

  15. Well, no doubt this is a good drama. No matter how, all the actors and actresses, the crews have done their great job by providing us the sweetness, bitterness, sadness and happiness. This is our life.

  16. Everyone is talking about how the guy belongs to the little sister because she saw him first but its the older sister who ends up dating him first. The guy does not belong to the little sister in the first place in my opinion. Does it matter even if Xiao Qing lied to him, because he likes her for her character and stuff not because they met when they were little. And I hope that he never forgets Xiao Qing and his love for her. I dont like the little sister as much.

    • I completely agree with you!!!! I reckon ah Kuan ultimately loves xiao Qing and she is the girl he spent that special summer with… He fell in love with her character and personality and not whoever was the little girl… True that may have helped but that’s not the entire reason why he loves xiao Qing… For some reason I don’t like tian Qing’d character as much as xiao Qing’s character

  17. 有點不懂耶 雖然最後有相認 但這樣有代表是跟小晴在一起還是只是好朋友? 畢竟阿寬愛的是小青不是嗎? 不過這樣的結局蠻有趣的!

  18. loved the ending! Gui Gui and George Hu’s acting was incredible! really felt how much Ah kuan loved Xiao Qing, it was so emotional when all the memories of them came back 🙁 either way an awesome drama! ^^ going to re-watch this drama again xD

      • I just remembered ah kuan was telling tian qing “my love for you [xiao qing] if forever and everlasting” and tian qing asks “Even if there was a person that looked exactly like me?” and he says “of course” T___T the ending does not align with his words

  19. but then now that I think of it, xiao Qing was the one who pretended to be the little girl in the first place. So technically, she is just returning back what’s supposed to belong to tian Qing. It’s a good happy ending. Ah kwan will always have a place in heart for xiao Qing, but he will get to be with the little girl he originally fell in love with.

    • true! but i still hate the ending. /: it’s just really awkward to have the little sister end up with her dead older sister’s boyfraaan. :’c i wished they had made a different ending than the original version from “Summer Times”. waaaaaaaah.

      • yeah exactly it’s so awkward! cause it’s like the younger sister is “replacing” her and ending up with her boyfriend… even though she was the little girl that met ah kuan when they were little doesn’t mean she’s the one “destined” for him! ah kuan fell in love with xiao qing and not because he thought xiao qing was the little girl he met when he was younger!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. So … the person Ah Kuan met when he was younger was tian qing??  then what was all the memories that wen qing had??? Soo confused.

  21. i am mad about the ending i don’t like the twin sister it is like she steals her sister boyfriend i know she is dead but that was annoying to see it is like they forgot about her

    • I actually like the ending because it was the dead twin sister who stole the guy away first. She lied to the guy saying she was the one he walked to when they were little. Even though it might seem wrong that the twin sister is dating her dead sister’s boyfriend but they were meant to be from the first start.. it just started out wrong because of a lie. I find it cute.

      • but if they wanted to take it from that angle and that xiao qing’s sister is the one that was meant to end up with ah kuan they should’ve given the little sister more screen time and maybe make her the lead? so that xiao qing becomes the sister that takes the guy she likes then it can be like some forbidden love thing where she likes ah kuan but can’t be with him because xiao qing is sick and blahblah then in the end they can end up together… but now it’s totally weird cause xiao qing is the main character why focus 26 episodes on her to only try to get the audience to believe that xiao qing’s sister was “destined” for ah kuan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
