  1. did not expect it to end here .. anyway they tried to wrap this up happily for all the couples with no doubt .. not exactly bad since no more story to tell

  3. This story was so crappy…it started out well for the first 5 eps, then took a terrible about turn. I only watched it for the pairing between Yao Yao and Lego…their story was so palpably sweet, and seemed real

For those looking for a drama to watch, don’t waste your time on this one

    • I don’t know how to bolster your critical review because it’s spot on. Aim High 22K was a great and unique drama that started off well. I think the episode when Mi Xiang confessed that she has always had feelings for Mao Mao.. I think that’s when the script drove off the road and the show became a bit too miserable. I continued to watch for Yao Yao and Lego as well… Hope they can collaborate in the future again. I loved their chemistry right from the start.

      • Me too. I watched this drama for Yao Yao and Lego. Liked this pair from the start. They should be paired off again. But personally I would have preferred a different ending for them. DY almost lost MM and it’s unrealistic for them to remain unmarried for three years. A more realistic ending would have been for them to be already married and with a child.

        • Yeah, they should pair up again! I don’t know about you… but there have been no outstanding Taiwanese dramas online this year, I am looking forward to the more unconventional ones like iHero and some other political drama I forgot the name of, in the middle of the year…. seems like a lot of these dramas have recycled plot devices and cliches. No wonder a lot of people are switching over to Korean and Japanese dramas. Do any of you recommendations for any Taiwanese dramas to watch at the moment?

          • Have you watched Tia Mo Chocolate? Here Yao Yao and Bobby Dao are worth watching.Personally it was one of the best pairings I have seen. The show started well but went downhill towards the end as far as the other characters are concerned. Sorry i can’t recommend any shows cos I am only watching The New World.

          • Yup, I watched Tiamo chocolate. Enjoyed that pairing too! I But the rest of the show… ugh. Don’t get me started. Yao Yao has a penchant for getting really into character… she’s really grown as an actress and I am looking forward to her in other roles.

My personal favourite romantic pairings for Taiwanese dramas are Alien Huang and Teresa Meng in Sweet Sweet Bodyguard, and Janel Tsai and Johnny Lu in In Between.

I’m watching The New World too, quite enjoy the action scenes, even though some parts of the soundtrack are cheesy. I personally can’t stand the miaomiao character, though. She makes a cutesy voice that I think goes a bit over the top.

Have started watching The Crossing Hero cos I like almost every single member of the cast and it’s turning out to be quite fun. Jiro Wang has a natural flair for comedy. I can’t wait for Long day’s journey into the light, it looks great. Especially the potential to explore more serious themes like death.

I jus realised from my reply to you that I watch way too many dramas… haha. Argh
