  5. *chuckles* Zhongqi suffers from a “fever” and he goes to see his “doctor”, Alan the plastic surgeon.

    I agree with Jli0324 that the forehead scene was used appropriately. Didn’t catch Office Girls but the same forehead scene in Ti Amo Chocolate was used very early on in the show when BOTH Van Ness’ and Joanne Tseng’s characters didn’t have romantic feelings for each other. In this instance, it’s already a one-sided affair and Zhongqi is finding it hard to resist Ai Jia in the physical sense. This fitting scene was really just a good way of showing how deep in love he already is.  He can’t handle the closeness without being truthful about his feelings so he has to flee the scene… hurhur

    Nice strategy, Alan. On making Ai Jia survive naturally, freely and comfortably under the concealed passion of Zhongqi, until she realizes that she can’t live without him.
    Am also always a fan of makeover scenes because it brings out the best physical attributes in the actor or actress. Teresa Meng is leggy and has such a svelte and feminine figure! Hiding underneath the baggy pants, jackets and army boots is one hot lady…her make-up was also subtly done with a lot of nude and shimmering shades, that it made her look so good! If you can recall, in the early episodes when Ai Jia went shopping with Zhongqi after he felt bad about the photo incident, she also did wear a long skirt with her army boots and Zhongqi already showed small signs of being attracted to her. But there was another instance where Cai Jie gave Ai Jia a makeover and Zhongqi immediately asked her to go to Qingmei yi’s house to change because she won’t be able to do her bodyguard duties in a mini skirt. So hence this drastic attitude of Zhongqi’s must be a little confusing to Ai Jia.  I’m so glad she isn’t feeling heart palpitations too, so the day they get together won’t be any time soon!

    Xiao gui’s acting on this front is very convincing… he’s treating Ai Jia like a little doll (something that some men do when they fall in love) with the whole pinching of cheeks and playing with her lips. You can really feel like he’s head over heels for Ai Jia when he thinks she is so cute that he wants to put her in his pocket.

    I am thoroughly enjoying the other main plot device which is the reunion between father and son. Alan clearly has abandonment issues. Hence he doesn’t want to form meaningful attachments to his real father. And finally, today it was confirmed that Alan was Zheng Ba’s son from his ex-wife. Someone mentioned also that Winnie is not Alan’s real son. How come it hasn’t been revealed yet and isn’t this really important to the story?

    • Great….you’re back.

      I wonder if Alan and Zhong Qi’s grand scheme of things will somehow backfire on Zhong Qi eventually, especially since Cai Jie already suspects something suspicious with Zhong Qi’s behavior. If Cai Jie does find out the truth, it will be hilarious bcos she will make his life miserable!!! Lol.

      Btw, you mean Alan is “Qin Ba’s” son (?)

      • I also remember someone leaving a comment saying Alan actually mentioned in a press conference that Winnie is not his real son. But apparently, it’s now showing that Alan is Winnie’s dad. Lol.

  13. I started having a fan-girl moment when Zhong Qi told Ai Jia that if she doesn’t have a place to eat, she could go to his house to eat.
    I also love the part when Zhong Qi called Ya Lun to complain about Cai Jie. I like the fact that Zhong Qi accepted the fact that Ya Lun was his brother and does not make a big deal out of it like other dramas. OMG….Fan-girl moment @ 38:47…AHHHHH!!!

    But I loved how he looked at ai jia after she finished shopping. She was so adorable! (in a pretty way) <3
    Did anyone notice that between the time ai jia got on the elevator and stepped off, her hair totally changed direction

    她貼著總經理的額頭量體溫? 完全不知道甚麼是男女授受不親? 會讓人誤會?
    角色的設定開始不合邏輯了!

  24. Honestly, the forehead touching scene to check for a temperature is becoming overused, it was sweet when Roy did it in Office Girls but then it seems like this scene is becoming overused

    • Who else used it? It’s a very cute gesture…and I don’t think it’s over used…plus it fit the scene perfectly. It was used as a gesture of love when 子奇 used it, because 杏仁 already knew that 子奇 liked her, and he is just trying to find chances to have those intimate moments with 杏仁. 

      It’s different in here. AiJia has no clue that ZhongQi likes her and she has no intentions of “having moments” with ZhongQi, she just wants to make sure he’s ok. I think the purpose not only was it fluff for the audience to squeal to, but also to show that ZhongQi is having issues resisting her now. I thought it was nicely executed. 

      Overall I think this is still going at a really great pace! They used the ZhongQi’s 180 to slow down the progression of their relationship. Yes, AiJia did have a boyfriend, but I’m sure the 小白 was already affectionate towards her initially, because he liked her. ZhongQi was not. They started out as enemies and eventually became really good friends, manifesting into this 曖昧不明的 stage. I’m sure AiJia likes him too, but is holding back because she is sure he won’t reciprocate the feelings. ZhongQi’s sudden niceness is a shocker to her, just like 甄爸 won’t trust ZhongQi’s intentions is the same thing, so her only explanation to these changes are what ZhongQi tells her. She is an “investment” with ZhongQi’s willingness and ZhongQi being so smart, 1+1=2… She is ZhongQi’s smart investment. ZhongQi not only has to prove to 甄爸 his feelings for AiJia is serious, he also needs to prove to AiJia as well. So far so good!!! 

      p.s. I also LOVED the scene with CaiJie and ZhongQi where he calls his 哥 to complain about his 嫂子.. hehehe <3 !!! (apologies for the lengthy comment)

      • don’t worry about it. it was good explanation there! and I also loved the same scene! hee… and caijie is subdued because of allan! lol.. 

        if i were caijie… i would also take the chance to buy lots of things… just to disturb zhongqi! hee… then give them to aijia in the end. =D
