  2. things tht were so sweet:
when zhong qi took ai jia’s arms when she fell asleep on the motorcycle and put them around his waist.
when zhong qi was watching ai jia bake a cake and had flashbacks of times when he was with ai jia.
when he put his arm around her and said to her that his dreams were all done. <3

  3. That’s weird, isn’t it supposed to be Zhongqi baking the cake?  Even though that wasn’t exactly what he intended, but if we went  along with Ai Jia’s idea, shouldn’t he be the one completing his wishes, rather than Ai Jia going by herself to bake the cake?  o_______O  I don’t know if this makes sense to anyone else…

  5. I’ve been holding back since the first episode, but I can’t hold in in anymore…alot of the characters in the drama are soooooo annoying except for the two brothers (杜丞恩 and 沈瑋強), 何仲祈 and the two bodyguards… Everything the majority of the people do or say don’t go with the normal mind. 甄愛家 is very fit with the nickname since she can’t do anything else that is actually useful. Yes, 何仲祈 has all those wishes he likes to fulfill, but we do have to act according to importance. it is not like how 甄愛家 said he will regret it later in life because he didn’t do it now. He will really regret it when the company goes bankrupt, since it is much harder to get it back. If there is a way to call the principal and allow them to go in to the school then it is also possible in the future, unless the principal dies. Sorry for the ramble, I had to let it out… sigh

  6. I watched this episode with a lot of questions in mind. Just need to air it I supposed.

why is it so important to make the cake? Is it the director’s intention to make everyone laugh? actually i seriously don’t understand aijia’s purpose? is it to make her feel that she can accomplish much? it feels like she is overly obsessed with the literal fulfilling of wishes until it makes her look very foolish leh. can someone really be so foolish?

    • since it is a drama they tend to exaggerate things for dramatic purposes.i can’t say nobody will be as foolish as her, but it is true people are blind when they are in love. ai jia doesn’t noe her own affections for zhongqi. i believe she is willing to do so many things for him coz she likes him alot.

    • I don’t think Ai Jia was being foolish – I was actually moved to tears during her conversation with Zhongqi where she said that his wishes had slowly become hers (some kind of transference), and she really is using this literal fulfilling of wishes as a channel to empower herself and liberate herself to do what she wants to do. Cos I think that this dialogue is one of the most well-written in the whole show, I have reproduced it in English here (from 15:05 onwards):

“Zhongqi: Baking cakes… performing songs… Zheng Ai Jia! Can you stop thinking of these childish and stupid things?

Ai Jia: These are all your dreams… how can you say they are stupid? How can you say that fulfilling your dreams are childish?

Zhongqi: Haven’t you already realized? I still have so many other things to do which are more important than fulfilling my dreams! What I am burdened with, is responsibility. My father gave me a home, such a big company to oversee, and he trusted me. Yet I disappointed him. I shouldn’t even have wilfully thought of going my own way.

I need to think of a way to give Gao Qiao an explanation. I cannot let the company’s distributorship run the risk of getting into a crisis.

Ai Jia: Yes, what you say makes sense. You have more important responsibilities to attend to. (sarcastically) And I can only do stupid and childish things. But stupid and childish it is, it’s still a part of your life! If you don’t fulfill all your wishes, you’ll live to regret it.

To tell you the truth, I don’t really care about what you do later on in your own life, and I won’t be able to help you make any decisions. But I’ve made a decision in my life not to give up easily. I’ve decided to help you fulfill your wishes, and bring you back to the stage to perform. I’m not doing this just for you, but for myself!

I’ve always obeyed my dad since young… whatever he said I had to do, I would do. When he called me to attention, I wouldn’t dare to move a muscle. It was only when he gave me the order to disband, that I would dare to move. And I was following him blindly to the point where I wasn’t even sure where my boyfriend disappeared to… and still, I had to swallow this reality.

But these few days, I’ve discovered I’m capable of accomplishing so many things on my own. I can help a friend fulfill his childhood dreams, and can even help him find his childhood sweetheart. And conquer the sea! Who knows, I may even be able to stand on that same stage with my friend tonight and perform. This is the first time in my life that I’ve actually felt useful. The first time discovering that I can actually accomplish so many things. So whether or not you come later doesn’t matter to me. But no matter what, I will still go later.

Zhongqi: (laughs in disbelief) Those wishes and dreams were mine. Why on earth do you have to fulfill them?

Ai Jia: I’m sorry. I’ve stolen your wishes, and borrowed your dreams, to feel the true value of my existence! But in the process, I’ve been feeling extremely happy – and I’ve never felt THIS confident in my life. So I definitely can complete this job of protecting you…. and gloriously quit the force to lead a normal life as a girl. Whether or not you come along later on doesn’t matter to me. But I will definitely go to the command post later, and head to the performance stage tonight!”
The baking of the cake was the culmination of Zhongqi’s decision to take charge of his life, though responsibility-driven, and enjoy himself at it, too, through his music. The flashbacks he had were also evidence that he’s started to see how much Ai Jia means to him. I loved that he gallantly ran towards Ai Jia with her failed cake! And through this exercise, Zhongqi found that he could have his cake and eat it too. (: (pun intended)
