  1. LC always knew he would go abroad to study so he’s mentally and emotionally prepared for it. However, it was a sudden new for JE so I don’t understand how LC could have treated it so lightly with regard to how JE would take the news?
However, it would be worth the quarry just so that they could make up and kiss.

  2. I think LC handled JE’s feelings for his going abroad to study rather poorly. He even thought that he had explained himself well enough about their situation. How could he not realize that JE was trying to avoid discussing the situation with him when she walked away in the middle of the discussion in the library? For a high IQ guy he needs more lessons from his buddy about girls.

Actually, JE is very smart. She pointed out just looking at the alphabets with clues from the painting even before LC. She’s a diamond in the rough and deserves to go abroad to study and learn to be more independent.

I think LC is beginning to see through RW’s actions. I like how he beat RW in cards as if to say, keep your hands off my girl friend. He also gave JE a kiss goodbye to show his affection for JE after the card game. I wonder if LC thought that he should be careful of RW while he’s fulfilling his military service and studying abroad. After all, JE does not have the same caution against RW as the opposite sex so it’s easy for him to get close to her. I wouldn’t mind seeing LC be jealous over RW. However, with only 4 episodes left I wonder how much of this storyline can they develop?

  3. I’ve been on the FB page of In A Good Way and everyone seems to dislike Ren Wei now for trying to get in the way between Liu Chuan and Jia En but I actually still really like his character.

He’s just a college kid growing up with many life experiences waiting for him. This is the first time he’s realised he has sincere feelings for a girl that’s not a fleeting crush and that girl happens to be his childhood best friend. Thus far, I think his actions of trying to interrupt Jia En and Liu Chuan’s date, telling Jia En it’s not realistic to wait 4/5 years for Liu Chuan to return from studying overseas etc have been harmless and very realistic too.

He isn’t the typical selfless guardian angel and this is what makes Ren Wei’s character so real and dimensional. He does care for Jia En and in the end he DOES do what he thinks is best for her i.e. telling Liu Chuan that Jia En was concerned and troubled about him going overseas and has her back as shown when he helped her cover up her overnight trip with Liu Chan despite playfully threatening her seconds earlier.

I think we are just so used to seeing the second male lead in a drama being all selfless and giving the main couple their blessing that it makes Ren Wei seem like a bad person. I think in reality, it is normal to secretly have a slimmer of hope that the person you liked returned your feelings.

I just feel sad for him because Jia En was beside him all along and only when she starts to shine does he see her as a gem. If Jia En hadn’t met Liu Chuan I’d be definitely rooting for Ren Wei and Jia En. Ren Wei is actually really sweet. He was gazing at Jia En with such tenderness when he let her win in the game of cards. Also when he was confiding to Bai Xue in a previous episode and he told her that he didn’t want Jia En to know of his feelings because she’s “different”.
